Most countries are now experiencing some form of lock down as a result of the Coronavirus, so it is not surprising to see that cards that revealed themselves for our April forecast: Temperance, Ten of Swords, Six of Cups, The Hanged Man and Death in the “atmosphere around us”.
Before the Coronavirus took over, most of us were too busy with our hectic lifestyles to truly maintain a proper connection with ourselves, with others and with nature. During April, “Temperance” sees us re-connecting on all levels and finding harmony. There is no longer a need to rush around as people work from home, find themselves on leave or are left without a job. Going out, dining out and socialising have temporarily ceased as we are forced to stay at home. This is having a healing, re-balancing effect on our lives and our relationships.
We may be putting a lot more love and energy into our homes, our gardens, cooking our meals or cuddling loved ones and pets, as a result of having more time. Because couples and families are forced to stay at home, we have no choice but to reconnect and spend more time together. We have to be more thoughtful and creative with how we spend that time.
“Temperance” brings balance, moderation and healing back into our lives, now that we have the time to do the things that we often struggle to do – exercise, eat well, meditate or take up relaxing hobbies. Temperance also indicates that you may be seeking a greater sense of purpose, fulfilment, and balance in your life
Unfortunately, the Ten of Swords in week 2 suggests that deaths from the Coronavirus will continue to rise. It also indicates defeat, depression and loss as many people find themselves out of work, suffer financial losses or see their businesses close, some for good.
However, Tens in Tarot indicate endings and perhaps in 10 weeks, the worst part of all this may truly be over. And though your hopes and dreams of the past may be dashed, new opportunities will arise in time.
“The Six of Cups” brings a sense of security and protection as we spend more time at home. Connect with your children or even your own inner child. Go back to doing something that used to give you a lot of pleasure, such as gardening, cooking, reading, listening to music, knitting, painting, playing games or a hobby.
The Six of Cups is also about being in a comfort zone and many people will be finding themselves feeling challenged during this crisis as everything changes so rapidly. But we cannot stay stuck in the past and need to evolve, all of us, individually and globally. So, don’t cling to the old ways, but embrace the new.
Many people may be frustrated during the last week of April, feeling that their lives are in limbo or they are just literally hanging around at home and that life is on hold. The Hanged Man encourages us to look at this situation differently, from another perspective. So, don’t focus on the negatives during this time. Instead, focus on the positives that this experience is bringing. If you focus only on what you don’t have or can’t do, it will keep you locked into negativity. Before you go to sleep, try writing 5 things that you are grateful for that day – no matter how small. You’ll fall asleep with positive thoughts and mindset.
Many businesses have transformed the way in which they do business. They have been forced to look at new ways in which to create a business. The entrepreneurial spirit of some business owners has seen them think outside the square and look at what new opportunities are available. Three Distilleries in Australia is using their by-products to make hand sanitiser. Melbourne Jeans manufacturer, No-body’s Denim is now making surgical masks and scrubs for medical staff.
This is also a valuable time to consider your position before we all move onto the new stage, after this is all over. So, avoid wasting time during this isolation period. Really consider how you will spend our time and make the most of it!
The Death card in the “atmosphere” speaks of the transformation and change that this global event will bring. Life will change forever, for everyone, and will never be as it was before. Think about what changes you are making now that you want to carry through when things get back to a new “normal”. What do you need to leave behind? What don’t you need anymore?
The Oracle Card “Storm Warning” predicts that many will experience upheaval during April. Some will find themselves without a job or suffer financial loss. As people are forced to stay at home and spend more time together, relationships that were struggling may be under even more pressure. But remember that all storms pass, clouds clear away and the always Sun re-appears.
Finally, the impact of the Coronavirus is having a profound and lasting impact on the world. It will pass and we will all get through it. I feel that it is changing our lives forever in the way in which we do things, as well as helping us to re-connect with our own spirit, with others and Mother Earth, in preparation for the Age of Aquarius.
