Yule, the winter solstice, is a time of great symbolism and power. It marks the return of the Sun / Son, when the days finally begin to get a little longer. It’s also a time to celebrate with family and friends, and share in the spirit of giving during the holidays.
However, in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the time of year when the crops are growing vigorously and the earth has warmed up. We can spend long sunny afternoons enjoying the outdoors, enjoying the company of family and friends or getting back to nature with the longer daylight hours.
The Sun card in Tarot reflects the warmth, success, positivity, vitality and fun energy of the Sun. It brings great abundance, joy and happiness. The Sun symbolises the feeling of optimism and fulfilment, the hope that comes with the dawn as it emerges after the darkest night. It represents the source of life on earth, for without the Sun, there would be no life.
The naked child reminds us that when we are in alignment with our true self and soul’s purpose, we find true happiness and life becomes joyful and fun!
The Sun also reflects one of the Universal Laws – the Law of Attraction. If you radiate positive energy out into the World, positive energy will return back to you, creating a life full of success, happiness, abundance and spiritual wealth. This is a time to enjoy the blessings that you have in your life, give thanks and feel gratitude.
This is the season of celebration, as well as flow of giving and receiving, gratitude and charity. You will attract abundance and success if you align yourself with the Universal Law of Giving and Receiving. Whatever you give out to the Universe will come back to you.
It is important to give, however, remember that receiving is just as important. Just doing, doing…. giving, giving, without receiving, creates imbalance. Ask the Universe for what you desire, then open your arms up to receiving.
All the hard work and effort that you have put in all year will be paying off right now, often in ways that you may not expect. Your gifts of time, energy, ideas, intentions and support will be reciprocated by the Universe. There will be more synchronicity as people, situations and opportunities bring you success and abundance. The Laws work as an exchange and the positive energy that you put out will come back tenfold.
In relationships, love is an exchange between two individuals. There must be a reciprocated giving and receiving in order for love to flourish and grow. Resist the temptation to give endlessly. Open up your heart and allow it to be filled with love. Let love flow in, through and out of you.
Now is also a good time to stop and reflect on your own gifts. What are your gifts? Do you make the most of your gifts? Are you constantly developing and growing your gifts? Your own gifts are unique and connect to your life purpose, the reason for your existence and why you are here on this earth plane right now. Take some time to really think about your own talents and gifts. We all have unique gifts, talents and abilities that we bring to this world. Perhaps you may want to cultivate and nurture these in the new year.
